Are you interested in photography? This is a simple and fun contest. Think of the opportunities at Camp Rockmont or while whitewater rafting! You don't need to be a professional...just lucky sometimes! Chief Rolling Rock is a photographer, and if you are interested at all, I'm sure he would be happy to give you some pointers.

Play on a River!

It's gonna be hot this summer and what better way to cool off than a CHEAP jaunt on a river?!

Paddle Creek has an amazing Y-Guides promotion. They regularly charge about $55 per boat, but because you are in the Arapahoe Nation, the price you pay is $15 per person.

Ever heard of "Wafting"? Me neither, but apparently I've done it before! It's an inflatable, open top kayak, and Wafting on the Eno River offers both day and nighttime trips. The best part is it's $13 per person. I might do one of the Friday night trips...

But who could forget the 18 year Trailblazer/Trailmates staple of whitewater Rafting on the French Broad River the Friday before the Rockmont Fall Outing! Need I say more!

Spring Outing Stuff

Spring Outing is currently underway. Here are a few extra things this year for outdoor enthusists...

1. Minnesot Bait and Tackle--They have live minnows and worms for sale at both camps. Minnows are the way to go...at Seafarer, there is a bobber in the 2nd lake with a big ole bass attached to it!

2. Morehead City Excursion--There are a few sailing spots available (72ft schooner, Jeanie B.) and more spots left for the fishing trip. The fishing boat, Mystery, can hold more people and both trips stay in the sound, so sea sickness isn't an issue.

3. Peir Fishing--Jimmy from MB&T said the trout are running in the river. If you fish off the peir make sure you purchase a fishing license. It is $5 for 10 days and can be purchased here... http://www.ncwildlife.org/fs_index_01_license.htm .
